2017

Education and Combined Intelligence

Thes are the German slides of a presentation I gave September 11, 2017, at the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy in Berlin on a session on „Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Networking“. Inparticular I discuss conditions for sustainable AI projects in Higher Education.

Interactive Logic Questions for MathCoach (Search for Logik)

This is a tool kit for building interactive questions on propositional logic, in particular on truth tables, semantic inferences, normal forms and Karnaugh-Veitch diagrams which I developed for the MathCoach system of HTW Saar. The sample problems can be adapted without knowing MathCoach‘s authoring language Laplace Script. The link provided leads to sample configurations (in German) of those questions.

Basic Concepts of Stochastic

This German online script is based on parts of the video recorded course on Stochastics by Robert Rockenfeller from the University Koblenz-Landau. It is augmented by randomized interactive self-tests from the IMathAS and MathCoach test systems. Embedded worksheets from the Open Source online computer algebra system SageMath Cell allow for student experiments and import of real life data.

Third Generation Educational Resources

These are my slides from a presentation discussing the challenges and promises teachers, authors and publishers are facing in view of the emerging interactive online and mobile educational resources. The presentation compares the commercial approach with the open community based approach.

Basic Math for the Curious and Lazy

This online course material presents the basic Mathematics that students entering university courses in Math, Economy, Computing, Natural Sciences or Engineering should know. Unlike other courses, it integrates use of the online computer algebra system SageMath Cell and teaches its basic usage „on the fly“.

The NetMath Web Site

The NetMath web site (in German) is the public face of the NetMath community. NetMath helps its members to utilize digital media in teaching Math and Engineering.

The NetMath Search Engine

The NetMath search engine lets you find and access free resources from the NetMath community (mostly in German) with a single click.

The IMathAS Math Test System

IMathAS is an Open Source Math test system developed by David Lippman. I provide teacher support for its users as part of my work for the Virtual Campus Rhineland-Palatinate.
